I am just saying, we can’t be very independent if we get all our oil from the Middle East and all our manufactured goods from China.

And too much of our food
a major problem, seeing as how countries with lax regulatory systems seem to have a problem making sure the food is actually edible. Seems industrial food production anywhere is questionably edible, but importing tainted stuff takes it to a whole 'nuther level.
