Tillis goes off his meds, attacks reporters

Whining about Liberal bias in the media:

I have concluded that most (but not all) of the mainstream media will not report on a balanced basis. Either through deadline calls, sloppy reporting, and/or momentary memory lapses, many will continue to report with a bias towards a liberal or progressive liberal stance.

You left out "Making them work 20 hour days so they won't miss any of our late-night shenanigans". Here's the rest, including a weird joke about Tillis killing a dog:

You need only peruse their blogs, Facebook pages, and Twitter accounts to see clear evidence of this. The continued partisan and sometimes ruthless antics of the left aided by some in the mainstream press, will continue to threaten or stifle legitimate efforts to improve the situation in North Carolina for all involved.

Therefore, effective today, I have resigned myself to embracing this reality and making the best of it.

Wait a minute, you weren't thinking something else were you? In fact, my resignation has inspired me to adapt an old joke I heard years ago--all in fun.

A newspaper reporter saw a man walking out of the Democratic National Convention when he saw a vicious pit bull had broken away from its owner. The dog was charging a small child who would have almost certainly been killed but the man grabbed the dog and threw it over a ledge to its death.

The reporter rushed up to the man and said, "Sir, you are a true hero. Tomorrow the headlines will read BRAVE DEMOCRATIC ACTIVIST RISKS LIFE TO SAVE TODDLER."

The man said "Actually, I'm a republican."

The reporter said "Okay but it still was brave so we will run with LOCAL CITIZEN ADVERTS DOG BITE."

The man said "That is very nice of you but in the spirit of full disclosure I must tell you I am the republican Speaker of the House in North Carolina and I'm just leaving a peaceful protest at the Democratic Convention."

The reporter looked at the man, closed his notebook, and walked away.

The next morning the headlines read "RIGHT WING EXTREMIST PROTESTER KILLS FAMILY PET."

Have a great weekend, Thom T."

The word is "Avert", not "Advert". Dumbass.

As far as the Capitol Press Corps and their coverage of Tillis, he's been dealt with very professionally. Hell, I've even seen a couple of them (who were definitely targets of this letter) defend the Speaker and Jordan Shaw when others (like myself) were speculating about nefarious plots.

Somewhat off-topic: I've received numerous Republican e-mail chain letters over the years, either from relatives or Conservative friends, and a high percentage of them involve some animal being killed. Or, the animal should have been killed, but the Liberal couldn't bring himself to do it, so the animal eats the Liberal.

Whatever the case, it denotes not only a morbid fascination with violent, primal death, but also an unhealthy "clinging" to the early learning techniques of nursery rhymes and fairy tales.

I know the world can be frightening, especially if you're an idiot. But you're much more likely to die from an errant blood clot than being devoured by the Big, Bad Wolf. He's actually a pretty nice guy. Drives a Prius and volunteers at the homeless (little pig) shelter.

Tillis exposed

I love it when the true colors of elected officials bleed through the careful veneer they've constructed over the years. That's what happens when they try to be funny. In this case, Thom Thom reveals two fundamental truths about himself.

First, he's an arrogant schmuck who thinks the business of running government is like a frat house drinking game. And second, he's a pathetic whiner who can't give what he dishes out. Both of which make him the perfect "leader" for the North Carolina Grand Old Tea Party.

Not to mention,

writing yourself into a fictional story (or "adapting" it, as he explains) is about as egotistic as you can get without crossing into unhealthy, personality disorder-land.

Why is it that right wingers

can't seen to be funny (when they mean to be)? Remember that stupid attempt at a conservative Daily Show back in the Bush era? It's always mean spirited and perverse.

Progressives are the true conservatives.

Somebody needs to be suffering

before their sense of humor can kick in. Which makes it not so much a sense of humor as it is a sense of their own lack of self-esteem, which demands that someone else must have it worse than they do.

I can't decide whether to loathe them or feel sorry for them. Can I do both?
