Tuesday Twitter roundup
You knew I was going to do this, so don't act all surprised:
Huffington Post@HuffingtonPost
11 charities every geek should donate to http://huff.to/10P5nCp #GivingTuesday
And here's a few more you may be interested in...in which you may be...*sigh*...here they are:
AmnestyInternational@amnesty
We love #GivingTuesday! Consider a gift to @Amnesty to help us fight bad guys all year long! http://owl.li/fChYE
Amnesty International rocks.
American Red Cross@RedCross
Thank you, Tim! RT @tbart19 Almost every 56 days, 49pints since 9/11 MT @RedCross: To all who gave, to those who will,ty #GivingTuesday
That's a lotta blood right there, but they need more. I can't give because I had infectious hepatitis when I was a (apparently reckless) child. So someone out there needs to give for me. Do it!
All Out@allout
If you support #LGBT equality worldwide, consider making your #GivingTuesday gift to @AllOut: http://bit.ly/UZzFMx
Important to note:
All Out does not accept funds from any governments or corporations, allowing us to stay independent. And our tiny staff ensures that every dollar goes a long way.
In other words, it's up to you.
StateDept@StateDept
On #DipNote this #GivingTuesday @TSonenshine explains how the generosity of the American people inspires giving abroad: http://go.usa.gov/g4hj
On that note, we'll attempt to segue from charitable giving to outright deception:

President Obama: "No peace can be imposed...core issues...must be negotiated." youtu.be/rKxcz5m4OZ4 pic.twitter.com/gxjaxWxu
I know I've already talked about this, but these damn Tweets keep showing up. In this one, an attempt to mischaracterize the President's words is being promoted:
So while the core issues of the conflict must be negotiated, the basis of those negotiations is clear: a viable Palestine, and a secure Israel. The United States believes that negotiations should result in two states, with permanent Palestinian borders with Israel, Jordan, and Egypt, and permanent Israeli borders with Palestine. The borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps, so that secure and recognized borders are established for both states. The Palestinian people must have the right to govern themselves, and reach their potential, in a sovereign and contiguous state.
Which (of course) is exactly the opposite of what the Israelis want. Honest negotiations indeed.
tarheelpol 10:23am via Twitter for iPhone RT @SenatorBerger: Decisions about the Dorothea Dix campus and the location of DHHS should be made by our new gov and #ncga after thoughtful consideration.”
Thoughtful consideration? You mean the thoughtful consideration that was behind the draconian cuts to mental health services in the last Budget?
