Uhh ... huh?

This was yesterday. Really, is this the best North Carolina can do for the House of Representatives? Admittedly, her hero, G.W. Bush, stumbled on this one too. Maybe it's time we instituted some kind of A.S.S. (Adage Sensibility Survey) to these clowns before we let them leave the state.

I'm afraid it probably is the best we can do

In a district where dumb is a badge of honor and planning is something reserved for communist regimes, Virginia Foxx is a revered poster child for ignorance and incompetence.

Not a good week for Dr. Foxx

This was in Politico's "Shenanigans" blog yesterday:

That’s Doctor to you

Did you know that Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) is a doctor?

She has a doctorate in education, and the lofty title is noted on her Rules Committee place tag. Most members opt for “Mr.” or “Mrs.,” but Foxx is definitely “Dr. Foxx.” Have other doctors in Congress opted for the title? The resounding answer is no.

An unscientific poll found that Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) and Reps. Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.), Bill Cassidy (R-La.), Tom Price (R-Ga.), Brian Baird (D-Wash.) and Tim Murphy (R-Pa.) all have eschewed the “Dr.” option on their place tags. And aside from Baird and Murphy, who are psychologists, the rest are medical doctors. (Gingrey does have “M.D.” on his office desk nameplate.)

Apparently, there was no particular reason why Foxx chose to have “Dr.” on her nameplate when asked by the Rules staff. In years past, she opted for the typical “Mrs.” in committees.

Do people refer to her as Doctor? We hear it’s a mixed bag of Congresswoman, Doctor, Mrs., Ma’am and, for the bold, “Virginia.”

Foxx Trot

Some Virginia trivia: since Barack Obama was inaugurated Ms/Mrs/Dr Foxx has reported per diem expenses in Mexico, Nicaragua, Jamaica, Estonia, Lithuania, Czech Republic and Germany. Working hard for the people of NC-05 while globe trotting.
