USA Today points out Virginia Foxx's hypocrisy

Here's a tiny little item from USA Today that points out that self-proclaimed Uber-Conservative, so-called anti-earmark, defender of the Pocketbook, tea-bagging Crusader Virginia Foxx (R-NC5) was instrumental is handing out federal funds for a nice little pet project that favored her local conglomerate Lowes, who just happens to be a major contributor to her warchest. Go figure.

From Monday's travel section:

Statesville Regional in North Carolina got $6.5 million in earmarks between 2003 and 2008 to extend its runway and improve its landing system. The city promised the improvements in 2003 to Lowe's when the $48-billion-a-year home improvement chain decided to base its five jets at the airport and wanted the added capacity, Statesville Planning Director David Currier said. Lowe's political-action committee and executives have given $11,750 since 2005 to Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., who sponsored earmarks in 2006 and 2008. Company spokeswoman Maureen Rich said the upgrades help other airport users, and noted that Lowe's has a major corporate campus in Foxx's district. Foxx, who has since taken a pledge not to request earmarks, said in a statement that airport funding was the top priority of local officials.

It is embarrassing to respond to Virginia Foxx

Virginia Foxx is my congressional representative. I have many friends from not only other districts in NC but in another state. We "discuss" each other's views regularly politically and have a lot of fun putting in a "zing" when one of our own does something or says something just totally ridiculous or down the road from outside the box.

Now, what do you think I have received via email with regard to Virginia Foxx? It has been horrid. It has been embarrassing and it has been something I just have no clue how to respond to or to create some kind of comeback to.

PLEASE, someone. Get someone to run against this abomination. I am just so embarrassed !!! Hopefully none of my e-friends see this post and figure out it is me or I will have total hell to pay for the whining and crying :)

"Hypocritical Prostitute"

Describes her perfectly, and is also a good name for a rock band.

USA Today has always been my

USA Today has always been my favorite national newspaper. The one time I subscribed (during the 2000 election cycle) their coverage was always excellent and almost always non-partisan.
