Where The Religious Right continues to be Wrong!

In the wake of the Tragic MURDER of Dr. Tiller at his Church of all places it leads me to think who in there right mind could do something like that. What gives them the Right to place judgement on any person? Tiller was an Abortion Doctor that performed late term abortions that most Dr.'s wouldn't do. This made him a Target for the Religious Right! The most hypocritical group of people on the Planet. The Group that hollars and screams about LIFE is DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEATH OF AN INNOCENT MAN THAT COMMITTED NO CRIMES.
Where is the outcry from the Religious Right over his DEATH? There is none. They are probably glad that he isn't alive to perform any more abortions. They are probably Proud of what happened and they probably see his murderer as a hero.
The Biggest problem I have with the Whole abortion issue that the Religious Right keeps complaining about abortions and overturning Roe V. Wade and all that but they have NO Plans to provide assistance to low income mothers. Instead they call them Welfare Queens. They don't want to have be on government assistance because it takes away from their tax dollars. But yet they want women to have babies that they can't take care of or afford just because it makes them feel better knowing that the baby wasn't aborted. Give me a Break. The Religious Right Wants to have babies but they don't want to help you take care of them. They don't want you to have Health care for them. They don't want you to have AFFORDABLE COLLEGE EDUCATIONS so you can get a good job and raise your family. With all that being said what in the hell do they want? They want the POOR to remain POOR and the Rich to remain RICH! They could care less about whether someone can take care of the babies or not they just want you to have it and if you can't take care of it put it up for abortion. Don't they know that it will end up costing the state in taxes if the government has to raise the child anyway.
The Religious Right doesn't have the moral high ground and they need to stop acting as if they do. They should be ashamed to call themselves Christians because their actions aren't even close the Christ Like! I am reminded of a famous quote, by a Great Man:
I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.

The "Abortion Issue"
Despite what people want to make of it, the question is simple. Say all you want about "don't touch my body," or saving children from rough upbringings; the real argument is over whether or not the unborn are people.
Even if one is all for abortion rights, they have a pretty poor mental capacity if they lack the ability to understand(empathize) how many would consider abortion the taking of a life and thus murder. Generally killing someone to stop them from murdering others is considered justified.
Personally, I still cannot come to grips with exactly where we should be on the abortion issue, but I do know that advocates for abortion rights seem to spend most of their time arguing over everything but the fundamental question of the potential rights of the unborn. Anti abortionists, to their credit, at least stick to the point. We'll never make any progress on the issue until we get back to the basic question. Opponents will continue to push the "taking of a life" point while advocates will keep talking about poor upbringings and how to pay for college.

The argument you are trying to make has already failed. Abortion is the LAW! That is what you guys fail to realize! Abortion is the LAW! STOP FIGHTING! Come to terms with it.
Stop trying to distract. That argument over whether it is a life or not lost when they passed Roe v. wade. What makes you Right Wingers think that you are going to get anywhere with that same failed argument?
The Only question that remains with the abortion issue is over whether we should be pushing for less abortions and more sex education. Of course the Right Wingers don't want to talk about that so they keep talking about something they have already LOST!

Either I am an absolute failure at writing or you didn't read very carefully.
If you don't realize that the real issue for opponents (screw whatever the law says for a second)is trying to stop what they believe is murder, you are wasting your time. How on earth can you expect someone who believes murder is taking place to "realize" that since the law permits something it is OK?
Besides, the only "argument I an trying to make" is that the opposing sides are not even arguing over the same thing. For example, the original poster, seems to frame abortion as mercy killing and a way to solve socioeconomic problems. I suppose that would mean that a rich woman should not be allowed to have an abortion since the baby would be in a better financial situation and able to afford college.
99% of the time I don't reply to abortion-related threads because people are just so emotional about it and don't listen. I should just make it 100% especially since I have failed, despite no small amount of deliberation, to figure out for myself the "answer" to the abortion question.

I am pointing to the hypocrisy of the GOP and the Religious Right! To Hell with abortion! They SCREAM PRO LIFE WHEN THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT A CHILD!
They care more about an UNBORN FETUS THAN THEY DO ACTUAL CHILDREN!
As for abortion it is the LAW!
It aint going to be overturned any time soon!

The law
Not that I am advocating making abortion illegal, but your argument concerning the status of something being lawful doesn't go far. Slavery was legal in this country for around 100 years. Being legal did not make it "right" or "wrong" and it certainly didn't discourage many who fought the issue and eventually got things changed. There are plenty of things one can do these days that may be legal but are not "right."
If someone disagreeing with an existing law or wanting a new law to prohibit something has no right to speak out and needs to "get over it because it is currently legal," we might as well get rid of legislators at every level from municipal to federal. Legislators make and change laws. Without them, judges become the legislators too.
As far as your characterization of the GOP and Religious Right goes, I would dare say there are more than a few- probably a majority- in those groups who care a great deal about children. To paint in ALL CAPS such a large percentage of the population makes you no better than those who would call all single mothers "Welfare Queens."
As far as your lumping all the other issues under one type of person, I'll say that I am a staunch supporter of the right to bear arms, am not a redneck, support gay marriage, and don't attend church if I can help it. I guess that makes me a "gun nut" in the eyes of the left and to the right a godless hippie who wants to let people marry their pets.

That is subjective. The fact is the Supreme Court said it was right. I am glad you mentioned the Slavery issue. Because The Supreme court said that it was Wrong. So should the Southerns tried to fight that ruling at that time after already losing the Civil War?
They didn't agree with the ruling, they lost the War, case closed.
Right wingers Didn't agree with Roe V. Wade yet they are still fighting the war. It doesn't make since. It just like some Tired of CONfederate that doesn't realize the War is over!

There own! I don't want to paint all Right Wingers with the same Brush but on this Issue MOST Right Wingers fall under the same category. Of course I know that not All right ringers share the same views on all issues. Heck, I know that not all Rednecks are Republicans. There are even some NRA members that are Democrats. But the Vast Majority of Republicans, Neo-CONS what ever you want to call them fall under what I described. Don't act like you don't know what it means to be a Neo-CON/Religious Right Winger!

Anthony, you need to
take a little extra time (to read) before you jump on somebody. That post was directed at somebody else, not you, and it was also very supportive of the points you're trying to make.
And you also need to remember that using all caps for words/sentences is the equivalent of yelling. I know you want to place higher emphasis on certain things, but doing it that way (more often than not) produces a negative effect in the reader and damages your effort.
Please don't take this the wrong way: I (and most others here) agree with your position on this, I just don't want to see your efforts wasted unnecessarily.

Finding some middle ground
Isn't that what President Obama said we must do on this issue? Anyone who isn't interested in finding solutions isn't really interested in solving the problem are they?

Middle Ground?
There is no middle ground. Either you are Pro Choice or you are Anti Choice. It's just that simple.
The Anti Choice Crowd lost! Roe v. Wade is the Law.
What else is there to discuss?
The only thing we need to be working on is providing support to Women that WANT to keep their child even if they are in Low Income homes.
We should be Educating our Youths about ALL means of Contraception.
The GOP is only trying to RALLY its Base by trying to fight battles that THEY KNOW they aren't going to win.
They have been really Good at doing that and we need to Point it out and call them out when they do it!
THATS WHAT WE NEED TO DO. Don't go along with it! There is Nothing to talk about as other than trying to Reduce the Number of UNWANTED Pregnancies. THATS IT!

There are many things to discuss
for one thing, FOX news and other right wing venues are polarizing this issue and causing people to commit crimes. We have to shut that down to get a handle on the rage that will not stop on either side until we do.
I've got lots more to say but not if you have a closed mind.

That is basically their Charter. To mislead and misdirect. The people that watch fox news aren't going to be swayed. What we most do is offer up the Truth!

They don't care about how many Right Wing Nut Jobs throws their lives away just to kill some Abortion Clinic Dr. To them both the Dr. and the Murder are casualties of the Pro-Life Movement. They want Stop and they want back down.
This why as a Progressive it is MY responsiblity to help shine that light of Truth on the very Darkest of Situations. I must be one of those people willing to call it like it is!
They will take advantage of any situation for political Gain.
Their Thousand of Right Wing Extremist willing to do exacly what that Man did. That is the Current Situation. And the sad truth is that they still feel that those kinds of acts only serve to advance their argument. This is why they continue to fan the flames of hate and bigotry. Because there are so many Hateful Bigots out there that are lying dormant waiting to be called to action.
We must keep our eyes on this situation and point out the hypocrisy when ever possible. National Homeland Security was DEAD ON. There are Literally Thousands of Right Wing Extremist that are just waiting for the right time to strike!!!
