Will DAG McCrory give the Public Utilities Commission to Duke Energy?
Facing South asks the question, but the answer is a foregone conclusion. Pat McCrory is Duke Energy's Big Payday.
After paying the Deputy Assistant Governor to run for office for more than a decade, Duke Energy is now getting its pound of flesh. It's getting the keys to the Governor's mansion and control of the Public Utilities Commission, both handed out on a cheap-ass plastic platter from one of Art Pope's Dollar Stores.
So when electricity prices spike later this year, and a rollback of renewable energy statewide puts us at the bottom of the national barrel, all the fools who voted for McCrory last November will come face to face with the high cost of their extravagant stupidity.
