No incumbent has won reelection to THIS SEAT since 1968. Unfortunately, Jesse Helms kept winning.

Yep, that's historically correct

That was a quote from Yahoo. writer of the story I quoted. However, I knew better and should have corrected it here and in my story.

Thanks to all who cheered on Elaine Marshall on this blog last night. It encouraged me if no one else. She so much deserves to win.
