A primary challenge. I mean, he's 'bout to get booted from his chairmanship of the Interior Appropriations Subcommittee, even conservatives are starting to notice his shady business practices, his ties to Tom DeLay aren't looking like such a good idea anymore, and Democratic challenger Heath Shuler is kicking his tail in fundraising. If there's a guy in North Carolina who really has enough on his plate already, it's Charles Taylor.
I guess nobody told Highlands attorney John Armor, or else he might have called his column today something besides "Why I Am Running in 2006." Or registered armorforcongress.com. But unfortunately for old Charlie, John Armor can't unring those bells.
Now I can't find where Armor calls himself a Republican candidate, but he doesn't like unions and he's for school vouchers. (He's also for more tourists in the mountains but less traffic on the roads, which is mysterious to me.) And he is a registered Republican.
Sorry Charlie, but when it rains, it pours.
