You Made a Difference, BlueNC
Young elected officials made a big difference for Equality this week.
Gordon Smith, endorsed by the Farm Team in '09, was one of 5 Asheville City Council votes in favor of LGBT rights Tuesday night:
City Council approved a resolution 5-1 late Tuesday calling for creation of a city registry for people in same-sex relationships and endorsing more rights for same-sex couples.
The resolution also calls for an ordinance against bullying on city property to be drawn up and for banning discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or sexual identification in city government employment decisions.
In Maryland, Marriage Equality passed the Senate today! One of the consistent votes for Marriage Equality and sponsor of the bill is Sen. Bill Ferguson, who you may have heard of from Farm Team blog posts last year.
In 2009, your support of the Farm Team helped Gordon Smith's campaign. In 2010, your support helped us fight the good fight for Elaine Marshall - all money raised went directly into innovative online ads that were seen by over 2,000,000 North Carolinians. Thanks again for your help!

I wish we could have "like" buttons
Does anyone know how to do that?
